      AERIAL CLASSES for ADULTS

Beginning Trapeze
Twirl all around on the static trapeze! Build strength and learn how to do some cool tricks up on the trapeze! We will be working on tricks in the ropes, hangs and combinations!
$90 for a 6 week session

Beginning/Intermediate Trapeze
This is for folks who already know the basics on the ole trapeze! We will be working on inversions, balances, combinations and more!

Kids Trapeze/Acrobatic Circus Explosion!!!!!
Time to have a bunch of fun! Circus Playtime! We'll work on trapeze tricks, sling tricks, tightwire, tumbling, partner acro, prop balancing and just having a whole bunch of fun! 
Perfect for ages 3-9!

(ages 7-16)
Each participant will receive the unique opportunity to learn, make, and perform some of the basics of magic, cullminating in a performance for family and friends. Taught by Wendel Wandell

JUGGLING!!

Juggling (All levels!)
Whether you're a first time juggler or a seasoned tosser, you'll have fun while you advance your skills. This class will focus on 3 ball juggling technique, juggling clubs, partner juggling and more!

POI
Poi spinning is a performance of twirling flaming or illuminated balls on chains. Classes will move through basic to intermediate poi technique and body movements. There will be music and fun tricks at every class. Poi are available at class, if you don't have your own to bring.

 Adult Improv/Comedy

Learn Basic slapsitck and comedy through exercises, games and group work.

Tedious treadmills...NO!!! Static stairclimbers....boorring!!  A workout disguised as a PARTAY??? NOW we're talking!
Come join the ZUMBA Fitness party on Saturday mornings -- grab your tennies, get you workout in, and still have the rest of the day ahead of you! No experience or sense of rhythm necessary -- desire for fun is the only prerequisite~

Stretch Variety by DONATION!!
Get stretching! This class will mix it up and give you a full range of stretching from light yoga, loosening up joints to getting into some deep stretches. Mask Making

Sadye Osterloh
Sadye Osterloh is co-founder of the Toy Boat Community Art Space, and runs the circus school! She has been performing trapeze, acrobatics, music, comedy and more with The Runaway Circus for 7years. She studied trapeze, chinese acrobatics, partner acrobatics and conditioning at The Circus Center in San Fransisco, and has been performing and teaching ever since!

Ingrid Johnson
Ingrid Johnson is a co-founder of the Toy Boat Community Art Space and has been a circus performer since she was a young buck! She studied at The Circus Center in San Francisco and CirqueEsteem in Chicago. She has been performing with The Runaway Circus and Forty Fingers and a  Missing Tooth for many years! Look at her go!

Nina Ruffini
Nina is a co-founder of the Toy Boat Community Art Space and is also a comedy/improv/magical marvel! She has studied the living daylights out of theater and comedy and has wowed Asheville audiences for years performing with The Runaway Circus! Shazam!

Walter Beals
Walter Beals has been a professional mask maker and mask-making instructor for over a dozen years.  With both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Theatre Production from Humboldt State University, he gained most of his mask making skills and knowledge under the training of mask-making and film-and-theatre-makeup master, Janet Warren.   Having also spent a year at Circomedia, the International School of Circus arts and Physical Theatre in Bristol, England, he learned about European style masks andmask making from his instructor Bim Mason,  former student of Jacques Lecoq.

Samantha Bird
Samantha Bird ran away with the circus nearly 20 years ago, and occasionally dabbles with coming back someday.  She is so very happy to be joining creative forces with the Toy Boat horde.  Her many years of training and performance include trapeze (static, swinging, & flying), corde lisse, silks, spanish web, roman rings, dance, Chinese Acrobatics, partner acrobatics, theater, clowning, mask & mime, roustabouting, sledgehammering, painting, costuming, very large truck driving...criminy, seriously?!  Yes, seriously.  Gosh, not to mention that B.A. in Circus Arts and Social Change.  Seriously.  She has also taught hundreds of amazing students, young and old, in classes, camps and schools stateside and beyond.  Greatest accomplishment to date?  Two dear little boys to call her own, and they don't mind one bit.

Wendal Wandell 
Performing professionally since age 11, Wendal Wandell has combined his studies in psychology and childrens education with his 8 years' apprenticeship with a New England Magic Company to create a wonderfully exciting magic class!! He performs locally and also works with the Vanishing Wheelchair.

BrandonBrandon started spinning poi in April of 2000 and fire dancing in 2007. He has been a student of Ballet and Classical Modern since 2008. He performs spinning and dancing with hoops, poi, and staffs with and without fire, has taught many workshops at national and international festivals around the US. He came to Asheville to reconnect with North Carolina and live in community before beginning his travels as a super hero.
